Dusan Senkypl has joined Groupon as Interim CEO from Pale Fire Capital, Groupon’s largest shareholder that holds nearly 22% of shares outstanding. Pale Fire is an entrepreneurial investment firm with ~$1 billion in AUM and two established investment strategies in technology private equity and a global macro hedge fund. Its private equity portfolio includes ~30 B2C and marketplace companies. Dusan co-founded Pale Fire Capital in 2015 and serves as Chairman and CEO. In conjunction with his appointment to Groupon CEO, Dušan will be stepping down from day-to-day responsibilities at Pale Fire Capital. On May 7, 2024, Dusan was appointed permanent CEO.
Dusan is an entrepreneur by trade. Prior to Pale Fire, Dusan created several global ecommerce and technology projects used by more than 250 million users. He built ePojisteni.cz and NetBrokers Holding, a dominant fintech player with more than 500 employees, which was bought by a German media group, Bauer Media, in 2018. He enjoys sports and dedicates a portion of his time to non-profit projects.
Jiri Ponrt has joined Groupon from Pale Fire Capital, Groupon’s largest shareholder, where he served as a Group CFO and later as a Partner. Prior to Pale Fire Capital, Jiri served as CFO at Alza.cz, one of the largest e-commerce players in Central and Eastern Europe, where he helped grow the business to an annual turnover of $2 billion. In addition, he spent 15 years at Danone/Nutricia, where he gained extensive experience in a variety of financial and commercial roles. Jiri has a proven track record from various Finance and Sales functions, where he managed multi-channel businesses in E-commerce, fast-moving consumer goods, and Pharmaceuticals.
Jiri operated as Groupon's CFO from April 2023, moving into the COO role from September 2025, with a remit to double down on operational rigor and cross-functional transformation. As COO Jiri will oversight over: Finance, HR, Legal, Procurement, Payments & Fraud and Financial Systems; as well as a number of cross-functional transformation initiatives.
Peter Sulak is responsible for global sales strategy and execution across markets. Prior to leading the global sales organization, he served as General Manager for the USA West region while also overseeing international markets. He has held senior leadership roles across Europe and the Middle East, including serving as a COO and as an executive board member of a major retail bank. Peter specializes in business turnarounds and commercial transformations, with experience scaling both B2B and B2C organizations, strengthening sales discipline, and improving marketplace performance. Before joining Groupon, he was involved in venture building across the MENA region, launching and scaling consumer financial services ventures.
Ales Drabek joined Groupon as CTO on May 1, 2025, and is based in Munich, leading a team of around 350 people. He has deep expertise in digital and technology transformation, cloud technologies, eCommerce, B2B & B2C marketplaces, Big Data, and CRM.
Previously, he was CIO at Lampenwelt GmbH, where he led a full technology modernization and AI initiatives across European marketplaces. Before that, as Chief Digital & Disruption Officer at Conrad Electronic SE, he launched one of Europe’s first B2B marketplaces and built an IoT platform for home automation. He also held leadership roles at Metro Cash & Carry International, driving digital transformation and customer-focused tech solutions.
Ales is passionate about new technologies and co-founded a company connecting IoT devices from multiple manufacturers, reaching over 400,000 users. He speaks English, German, and Czech.


Nick Walker joins Groupon as Chief People Officer, bringing more than 20 years of global HR leadership across high-velocity tech and fintech environments. He has held senior People roles at Bolt, wefox, Paysafe, and Skrill, leading teams through hypergrowth, restructuring, acquisitions, IPO's, and complex multi-market integration. At Groupon, Nick joins at a pivotal moment. The company is actively reshaping how it operates, scaling its AI capabilities through Project Foundry, and building the people infrastructure needed to support a faster, more focused organization. Nick will lead the People function with a clear mandate: develop leaders who can deliver in demanding environments, build performance frameworks that scale, and ensure Groupon attracts and retains the talent its transformation requires. Nick believes that people strategy is business strategy, and that the most resilient organizations are the ones that invest in their teams as deliberately as they invest in their technology.
Rana Kashyap joined Groupon in December 2022 as SVP and served in a variety of roles across Finance, Commercial and Transformation. In September 2025, Rana was appointed CFO, overseeing FP&A, Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Investor Relations, Corporate Development and Strategy. Previously, he spent 9 years at investment firm RPD Fund Management, where he served as Director of Research. Before that, he held roles at Danaher Corporation, Maini Group, and JPMorgan Chase. As CFO, Rana is building Finance into a high-throughput, AI-enabled function that drives strategic planning, capital allocation, and decision-making velocity across the organization.
Based in Prague, Marie Havlickova joined Groupon in August 2022 as an external consultant and now leads a team of 8 direct reports. She brings deep expertise in business strategy, online marketplace management, and innovative product-led growth. Prior to Groupon, Marie built her career at Slevomat, a Groupon-like platform in the Czech Republic, where she held roles ranging from City Manager and Head of E-commerce to CEO in 2014. She successfully transformed Slevomat into an experiential marketplace and guided the company through its acquisition by Secret Escapes in 2017.
At Groupon, Marie has spearheaded key initiatives including defining the company’s long-term strategic plan in 2022, launching an experiential gifting proposition to broaden Groupon’s value beyond discounts, and building a diverse product team dedicated to delivering a personalized, user-centric customer experience.
Fluent in Czech and English, Marie is dedicated to harnessing Blue Ocean Strategy principles to explore untapped markets, shape unique value propositions, and achieve lasting growth beyond conventional boundaries.
