What’s your favorite Groupon memory?
The most Groupon thing would have to be during Halloween when random zombies and monsters came to scare everyone. Who doesn’t love a great scare?!
Tell us about your job! What do you do? What do you love about it?
I work on the Things To Do Team. I work with lots of business across the US and Canada ranging from amusement parks, golf courses, white water rafting, bowling, laser tag, and so much more. I help businesses drive traffic and gain exposure to new customers. I love working with this team because I can relate to them. I love great adventures and new experiences myself. I love to travel and try new festivals, arcades, and hobbies. My typical day keeps me super busy learning more about business and creating deals for them.
What’s been the most challenging thing you’ve worked on?
The most challenging would have to be a river tubing business. I have been working with the business since August of 2017. It is such a cool business and concept that is enjoyable for all ages.
Who or what inspires you?
Kanye West is a huge inspiration to me. Ranging from his music to fashion career, he shows us that anything is possible. From making beats in his mom’s basement to becoming one of the most talented and well-known artists, he is a modern version of the American dream. He believes in just being humble and success will follow. Also, I am a huge sneakerhead and him designing his own sneaker is very inspiring to me, and of course my teammates as well!
What was your first impression of Groupon as an employer?
The culture! Wow, is the culture amazing here. Everyone is willing to help and everyone comes from a different set of shoes. Learning from my teammates was super important to me. They taught me to succeed and helped me grow as a person.
How does your work impact Groupon’s mission of building the daily habit in local commerce?
I focus on working with small and big businesses all across America. Not only do I get to help the businesses grow, I also get to inspire the customers to try out something new. Maybe even try something they have never done before.
Describe the proudest moment you’ve had at Groupon.
My proudest moment would have to be almost hitting my goal my second full quarter on the floor. Also breakfast club: I once bought Stan’s donuts and my team was so happy, I cried a little.
Have you won any awards?
No. The only award I need is my passion.
Work with me!
What do your parents think you do?
My mom’s favorite story is, “You once lost me in a grocery store. It had two aisles in it. You are going places.”
Where were you before you joined Groupon? How did you get here?
I had my own photography business and I was taking pictures at concerts. I realized that I needed to get real-life experience with sales after completing my business degree, so I applied here at Groupon.
You probably have a life outside Groupon; what are you up to when you’re not at work?
Photography. I shoot concerts, street scenes, and weddings. As a sneakerhead, I have over 63 now and counting…and I am serious about my collection. I clean my sneakers every Friday for like two hours. Finally, I love Fortnite! I play so much Fortnite, I have clocked over 1,000 hours in it which is over a month. LOL!
If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be and why?
I’d like to become the CEO of Amazon…but really just so I can buy all the stuff. Oh, also I’d love to be a full-time YouTube vlogger for just one day.
Your role probably exists at other companies aside from Groupon…so what makes your role at Groupon unique?
The culture at Groupon is amazing. I also love coming to work every day. Even the office space is really nice and big. Everyone here is just inspiring in their own ways.
Tell us something that might surprise us about you.
I have seen Kanye over 15 times! I’ve also met all the Kardashians and Jenners. I gave North West a high-five, met Drake, Justin Beiber, Chance, Vic Mensa, and a whole bunch of other musicians.
