Give us a glimpse of the view from the Paris office!

What group do you recruit for?

Sales

What are some best practices for candidates to keep in mind while they’re applying to or interviewing at Groupon?

Stay true to who you are, be concise, and don’t forget to use numbers to back up your examples!

What should a candidate know about how to work with you during the recruiting process?

I guess the main points would be transparency and honesty. I believe it’s important to know where do you stand in a recruitment process and what the next step(s) would be. I also try to always give feedback to candidates, no matter what the final decision is. It’s always interesting for them to know what went smoothly and what they could improve.

What’s something that candidates are often surprised to learn about Sales at Groupon?

I think Groupon’s concept is pretty unique, so it’s really challenging and interesting to build win-win situations with local commerce! Also, helping small businesses grow is something captivating that helps you get up in the morning to go to work. Finally, I’d say that the environment at the office is very positive to inspire you, push you, and at the same time have fun!

What’s the #1 thing you wish all candidates did?

Put figures and concrete facts on their resume! And on a not-so-serious note, I like when candidates put their hobbies as it’s a cool way to break the ice and learn what they are passionate about.

How does your work impact Groupon’s mission of building the daily habit in local commerce?

By finding the best talent to promote Groupon on a local scale, my work helps the company to select candidates who care about local commerce and who are eager to create a win-win situation for businesses.

What’s your favorite memory so far?

My first-ever call at Groupon to a candidate would eventually be a hire a couple of weeks later! Also, during my first month, I had the chance to meet with our CEO Rich Williams during his tour of Europe!

And what was your first impression of Groupon as a workplace?

I was truly impressed with the pleasant atmosphere in the office. Everyone looks very dedicated to their work but at the same time, they don’t forget to have fun!

What’s your favorite local business?

Probably a beer bar close to Montmartre that offers cheese plates and charcuterie in a very cool setting. It’s called “La Binouze” (which means beer in slang) and they have such a large selection of different beers to try! If you go there please don’t forget to drink responsibly.    🙂

If you could do any other job for a day, what would it be and why?

President! I’d be curious to see the world from a different perspective and have the ability to help people on a bigger scale.

What inspires you?

Making Groupon a better place with awesome human beings in it!

Finally, tell us something about you that might surprise us!

I’m tall, very tall! (And I know if you ever see me you’ll ask, “how tall”?)
